Surya Engineering simplifies the design of Bolted Coupler for the construction of reinforced concrete. This will reduce the number of required rebars. MBT Couplers are easy to install and achieve failure loads higher than 115% of the characteristic yield strength of the grade 500 TMT bar. Neither bar end preparation to form threads, nor bar rotating is required. MBT couplers can also be used to join imperial, plain round, or deformed reinforcing bars.
Lapping is not appropriate for connecting the TMT bar. Lapping can consume more time in installation & also cause greater congestion in concrete because a large amount of TMT bar is used.

Lapping is dependent on concrete for transferring a load, for this reason, degradation in the integrity of the concrete could affect the performance of the joints. The strength of MBT Coupler joints is independent of the concrete in which it is located, this MBT coupler retains its strength without losing cover which will result in impact damage or seismic.
